Studio film Hollywood, A24, baru saja merilis poster dan trailer film “After Yang” yang akan tayang di bioskop-bioskop di Amerika pada tanggal 4 Maret mendatang. Film ini tayang perdana di festival film terbesar dan paling bergengsi di dunia, Cannes Film Festival, pada Juli 2021 lalu. Pada Januari tahun ini, “After Yang” juga tayang di Sundance Film Festival.
“After Yang” mendapatkan pujian dari para kritikus film dan saat ini mendapatkan score 85% di Rotten Tomatoes. Film ini juga memenangkan Alfred P. Sloan Feature Film Prize di Sundance Film Festival, penghargaan yang diberikan untuk film terbaik tentang sains dan teknologi. Tak hanya punya jalan cerita yang menarik, film yang dibintangi oleh Collin Farrel ini ternyata juga melibatkan seorang aktris cilik dari Indonesia, Malea Emma.
Sinopsis film “After Yang”
Tema futuristik mewarnai cerita film “After Yang” ini. Berlatar suatu waktu di masa depan, film ini bercerita tentang sosok Jake (Colin Farrell) yang berusaha mencari cara untuk memperbaiki Yang, robot pengasuh putrinya, yang mengalami malfungsi. Pada prosesnya, Jake menemukan kehidupan yang berlalu di hadapannya, juga tersambung kembali dengan istrinya (Jodie Turner-Smith) dan seorang anak perempuan yang sebelumnya tak ia sadari keberadaannya.

Malea Emma pertama kali dikenal karena video nya yang viral saat menyanyikan lagu kebangsaan Amerika di pertandingan sepak bola LA Galaxy. Aktris cilik kelahiran menyanyikan lagu tersebut sebagai pembuka pertandingan sepak bola antara LA Galaxy dengan Seattle Sounders di Stubhub Center Stadion di Carson, California, AS pada 23 September 2018. Selain “After Yang,” Malea juga telah membintangi beberapa film seri Disney seperti “Raven’s Home” dan “Coop and Cami Ask the World” dan juga “iCarly” di Paraomount+.
