Malam penganugerahan Piala Citra Festival Film Indonesia (FFI) 2022 baru saja usai digelar pada Selasa, 22 November 2022 di Jakarta Convention Center. Dewan Juri Akhir yang berjumlah total 21 orang telah berembuk sesuai kategorinya masing- masing untuk menentukan pemenang 22 kategori penghargaan FFI 2022.
Pada malam penghargaan tersebut film “Seperti Dendam, Rindu Harus Dibayar Tuntas” (2021) memenangkan lima Piala Citra dari 12 nominasi. Selain itu, film “Before, Now, and Then (Nana)” (2022) juga membawa pulang lima Piala Citra dari 11 nominasi yang diraihnya, termasuk penghargaan Film Panjang Terbaik. Selain itu, Dewan Pengabdian Seumur Hidup untuk Film yang terdiri dari Budiyati Abiyoga, Jajang C. Noer, dan Widyawati juga memutuskan untuk memberikan Piala Citra Pengabdian Seumur Hidup untuk Film kepada mendiang aktris senior, Rima Melati.
Sejak pertama kali diselenggarakan pada 1955, FFI digagas sebagai barometer perkembangan kualitas perfilman Indonesia.
